Mikayla graduated from Trent University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. She has since obtained her CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT) designation and pursued additional education in geriatric rehabilitation and healthy aging. Mikayla is actively pursuing her Registered Kinesiologist distinction.
Mikayla is passionate about using exercise therapy to support health promotion, disease prevention, and active aging. She is particularly interested in strength training for injury prevention and helping individuals safely rebuild strength after an injury.
In addition, Mikayla incorporates stretch therapy into her practice to improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and support injury prevention and recovery. She focuses on individualized, evidence-informed techniques to help clients move more efficiently and comfortably in their daily lives.
With a lifelong background in dance, Mikayla currently teaches at Kawartha Children’s Dance Centre and is entering her fourth year as an instructor. Her experience in dance has fostered a strong commitment to safety in extracurricular activities, as well as injury prevention and management.
In her spare time, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and engaging in creative hobbies such as crocheting and sewing. She also enjoys being outdoors, often accompanied by her dog, Monty.
