Mikayla graduated from Trent University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. She is a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists Ontario, as well as a CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT). Mikayla has continued to grow her education and pursued additional education in geriatric rehabilitation and healthy aging. Mikayla is passionate about using exercise therapy and movement-based rehabilitation to support health promotion, injury prevention, chronic disease management, and healthy aging. As a Registered Kinesiologist, she has a particular interest in strength training for injury prevention, functional movement optimization, and helping individuals safely regain strength, mobility, and confidence following injury or periods of reduced activity.
Mikayla also incorporates stretch therapy and mobility-focused interventions into her practice to improve joint range of motion, reduce muscle tension, and support recovery and long-term musculoskeletal health. Using individualized, evidence-informed assessment and treatment approaches, she helps clients move more efficiently, manage pain, and achieve their functional goals for work, sport, and everyday life.
With a lifelong background in dance, Mikayla currently teaches at Kawartha Children’s Dance Centre and is entering her fourth year as an instructor. Her experience in dance has fostered a strong commitment to safety in extracurricular activities, as well as injury prevention and management.
In her spare time, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and engaging in creative hobbies such as crocheting and sewing. She also enjoys being outdoors, often accompanied by her dog, Monty.
